The Central Adriatic Sea Port Network Authority is partner in the PRESPORT – “Promoting Green and Smart Port Hubs in the Adriatic Sea” project, co-financed by the Interreg Italy–Croatia 2021–2027 Programme.

The project promotes the digital and green transition of Italian and Croatian ports to make multimodal transport more efficient, support economic growth, and reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

Ports from both countries are working together on the digitalization and decarbonization of maritime and port activities, with the goal of positively contributing to climate change mitigation through pilot actions in five key areas:

  • energy efficiency and renewable energy production;
  • sustainable lighting and climate resilience;
  • e-mobility;
  • digitalization and multimodal planning;
  • port safety.

A cross-border training programme will also disseminate the latest innovations through an open e-learning platform accessible to all interested stakeholders.

As part of PRESPORT, the Central Adriatic Sea Port Network Authority will carry out an intervention to improve the energy efficiency of the public lighting system in the Port of Vasto by replacing traditional lamps with high-efficiency LED technology. The project will also fund technical and legal studies aimed at optimizing the management and operation of the Onshore Power Supply (OPS) systems currently being implemented in the Port of Ancona.
