Appointed by the Port Committee on the proposal of the President , including experts with proven qualifications in the sector. It has a private law contract duration of four years renewable once only .

Managing Director at Ancona Port Authority: Matteo Paroli
He graduated in law at the University of Siena. Since 2000 he is a member of Livorno Bar Association.
Since 1995 he has been teaching at the Faculty of Economics (Law, Transport and Navigation chair) and at the Faculty of Law (Department of Public Law) at the University of Pisa.
From 1999 to 2003 he was tutor at the Naval Academy.
Since 1997 he has been head of the Legal Affairs, Procurement and Contracts department at Livorno Port Authority. From 2005 to 2007 he has been Managing Director at Livorno Port Authority.
For Livorno Port Authority he managed roles in the areas of international relations, administration and finance, government property, heritage and port labour.
He also worked as a consultant for several national ports and maritime companies.
From 2013 he is a member of the Legal Advisory Committee Board of ESPO - European Sea Ports Organization - based in Brussels. From 2005 to 2007 he was Italian Alternate Director of IAPH,  International Association of Ports and Harbours, based in Tokyo.
Since 2009 he has been chairman of the Evaluation Team for Ancona Port Authority.
He is radio amateur and holder of 2002-2004 world record registered by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for radio transmission by the lunar reflection, longest distance in band 50 MHz.
Matteo Paroli was born in Livorno on 26/02/1969, he is married and has three children.
